Basement Waterproofing Estimate Template (Free)
A basement waterproofing estimate needs the affected wall linear footage, the interior drain system priced per linear foot with jackhammering and concrete restoration included, sump pit and pump with a battery backup option, wall vapor barrier, any crack injection by location, exterior grading or downspout work quoted or excluded, a warranty bounded to the installed system, and a payment schedule with a deposit and a draw. Name the walls, not the basement
“North and west walls, 62 linear feet” is a scope. “Basement waterproofing” is just a promise. The warranty follows the walls you treated, and that’s only enforceable if the estimate said which ones they were.
Reconstruction is not included
Cutting an interior drain means removing finished wall material in a finished basement. Say plainly that rebuilding it isn’t in the price, or quote it — this is probably the single most common source of shock on a waterproofing job.
Skipping the copy-paste
Software with your per-linear-foot drain, sump, and injection rates saved builds this estimate quickly and schedules the deposit and mid-job draw off the same record.
Frequently asked questions
Should the battery backup be quoted or optional?
Quote it as an option with the price shown, and note that basements flood during storms — which is exactly when power fails. A customer who declines it should decline in writing, because the failure it prevents is the one they'll call you about.
How do I handle exterior drainage in the estimate?
Quote it separately or exclude it explicitly. A large share of basement water comes from gutters, downspouts, and grade — an interior system manages water that's already arriving, and saying so protects your warranty and often sells a second job.
What should the warranty cover?
The installed system — the drain, sump, and the walls it serves — for a stated term, excluding new sources, plumbing failures, and areas not treated. A blanket 'dry basement' guarantee on a house you don't control is unbounded, and it's how waterproofers end up doing free work for years.
