Should agitation be billed by the hour?
Yes, separately. It's equipment and fuel running for hours before any hauling starts, and rolling it into a per-load rate makes your hauling look expensive while hiding real cost.
Loads or gallons?
Gallons for liquid systems, loads for solid. Use whichever unit your customer already thinks in, state it clearly, and keep it consistent so they can compare you year over year.
How should distance be handled?
A stated surcharge beyond a set radius from the pit. Hauling to a field five miles further is real time and fuel per load, and it compounds fast across a full pit.
Is injection worth pricing higher than surface spreading?
Yes. Injection is slower, uses more fuel, and requires different equipment, but it reduces odor and nutrient loss — which is exactly why customers ask for it and will pay for it.
